How to turn TV on and off via riseplayer

When using a the raspberry pi as a player, there would be the possibility to turn a connected screen on or off via shell command!

The answer is given by using the CEC commands that talks to the TV via HDMI.

Please find more info on
http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/vie...

Would this be an option to integrate into the general rise player? cec-client or libCEC is available for many platforms and it would be a great add on to schedule uptimes for a screen to black it out during nighttime for instance...

What do you think?

Hi guys,

At this point development for Raspberry Pi has halted and the hardware/player is no longer supported. We do appreciate your input.

Pi Player is an open source project. If a third party developer would like to implement this feature and make it public, this thread woul dbe a great place to update!
