How to use latest chrome browser with Rise Vision Ubuntu player

I'm having a lot of trouble with the Chrome version that is installed with the Rise Vision player for Ubuntu 14.04. It crashes a lot with our content and is just not usable for us.

I tried uninstalling the Ubuntu player and installed Chrome and the Chrome package of the player and now everything works alright. But I have a lot less options like being able to reboot the display, which I really need.

So I'm wondering if it is somehow possible to use the Rise Player for Ubuntu but installing and using the latest version of Chrome as the default viewer instead of the one installed with the player? And if it is possible how do I do it?

Mads,

At this time there is no option to update the browser in the native player.

Mads,

I was mistaken! I can actually provide you with some instructions on how to upgrade chrome to the latest version. Can you tell me what OS you are using?

Hi Blake,

I also have this problem with our Win7 boxes - our content is not compatible with Chrome 24 that ships with RiseVision and I'd like to find a later build that will. Since Google is now currently on Chrome 40, are there any numbers in-between that are stable enough for use with RiseVision while still keeping the ability to control the player (i.e. reboot, send content, restart player, etc).

Thanks!

Nico,

Our Chrome App Player, is an extension tochrome is available through the Chrome Extensions Store. You can read more about it on our player page under Chrome. Since you're running Windows, you should retain the ability to reboot computer/restart player.
