Hi, Maybe someone has a suggestion. I am playing with a Chromebox. Question I have is how to power on or off a panel/monitor at specified times remotely. It will also be okay of a panel goes in to sleep mode. That the Chromebox remain running is okay. Suggestions :) Thanks Emile

Emile, I do not think at this point there is an option to remote-in into your Chromebox... I could not find one. You can try setting off/on hours on your TV/display if available. However, it might put your device to sleep and you might need to wake it up later manually. It is hard to tell for sure because it all depends on your setup. Basically you need to do some testing by yourself.

Much like Darius, I would suggest a monitor where you can control the schedule on the monitor itself.

I use a black full screen presentation set in the schedule for overnight and weekends.
It's a cheat, but the panel "looks" off.

Depending what panel/monitor your using is should have auto on/off in settings menu check that out. most popular brand have this setting.

I've seen the hardware remote power switches but have not tried them, also a lot more expensive than Alex's post re: mechanical timers.
Emile, these should point you to ideas to try out.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

Not all displays have scheduling capabilities. I plug our displays (only—not the players) into WeMo Insight switches. I could use the WeMo app to schedule on/off times. But instead I connect the switches to IFTTT and use daily recipes there to turn the switches on and off.
