How to Render HTML Pages from Rise Storage?

I am very new to Rise Vision but did search the forum for an answer before posting.

I am having the most success displaying video which is embedded in an HTML page and would also like to use Rise Storage to host it.  I am on my 3rd day of Rise Storage eval.

However, I can not seem to get a rendered page as I can using my web host and a URL.

For example, if using the web page widget, I specify my page "video.html", I just get  a Rise Storage root folder listing.

Or, just using a browser if I specify: storage.risevision.com/MZT/Videos/india/video.html I again just get a rise storage root listing of my files.

I'm just really trying to reliably display HTML5 video, encoded Webm at 1200 CBR.

Thanks for any help and information.  I am very excited about Rise Vision.

Hi,

If you need to render it via HTML, are you able to host the media on Rise Storage and add the code into the HTML Widget?

Thank you for the reply!

No, when I paste my HTML page code into the HTML widget, nothing displays on preview.

Here is the code I am placing in the widget:

<!doctype html><html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>Untitled Page</title>
<link href="Rise_Content.css" rel="stylesheet">
<link href="video.css" rel="stylesheet">
</head>
<body>
<div id="wb_MediaPlayer1" style="position:absolute;left:50px;top:79px;width:516px;height:290px;z-index:0;">
<video src="india.webm" id="MediaPlayer1" autoplay="autoplay" loop="loop" preload="auto" muted>
</video>
</div>
</body>
</html>

All the support files are on Rise Storage.

This page does display and play correctly when hosted on my web host, but not on Rise Storage.  Probably due to my inexperience.

Thanks! I didn't realize that there'll be links to external css, I thought it would just be embedding a video by itself with the <video> tag.

I uploaded a .html and a few .css files on to Storage and was able to show the contents. The .html was in the root Storage folder and the .css were in a separate folder (css). It linked well.

The only thing that didn't link well were the images (uploaded in a separate img folder). I've noticed that the breadcrumbs for media files will change. In which case it looks like the .html/css files that is referencing any media assets will need to be edited with the full Storage link. Once this has been edited, the media assets linked properly.

Another thing to watch out for is browser caching. If you made any changes to the .html and re-uploaded to Storage, the browser will still show the previous version. I would recommend viewing the .html link and the presentation preview in incognito mode in Chrome where you'll see the more recent change to the file.

Thanks again for your help.

But my lack of HTML coding experience is probably hindering me.

Here's the code I just tried without success:

<!DOCTYPE html><html>
<head lang="en">
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
    <title></title>
</head>
<body>
<video id="india" src="https://storage.risevision.com/india.mp4"; controls></video>
</body>
</html>

Am I even referencing Rise Storage correctly in the above?

Should all of my video be encloded webm (VP8) instead.  I am using all Android devices.

If you would care to share a proper code snippit for this amateur, I promise to learn from it.

Thanks again!

I have found this excellent article on your website which answers it all for me.  Plus, I was unaware of the small "link" icon in Rise Storage which gives the specific URL for each item in storage.

I think I'm on my way now.
