Vine is a social media sharing site for mini looping videos. If your organization, group or company has a Vine account, you can go ahead and embed Vine videos in your digital signage. For those of you not in the loop (pun intended), feel free to sign up for an account.
Locate the Vine video that you want to embed. For this example, I chose this Vine from ABC News.
Besides the main Vine video page is the Embed icon. Click on it to obtain the HTML code to embed the Vine.
I left the other settings as-is. The embed code that I am using for this example is below:
<iframe src="https://vine.co/v/i6KHHOnwzBD/embed/simple" width="600" height="600" frameborder="0"></iframe><script src="https://platform.vine.co/static/scripts/embed.js"></script>
In your Presentation, copy and paste the Vine's embed code between the
<body></body>tags in the HTML Widget.
Save and Preview your presentation.
I decided to give it a frame which is a PNG image with a transparent centre. You can read more about how to create these here. In the example below, you can see that I've changed tweaked the Placeholder so that the video is looping behind the frame.
When you are adding a frame, make sure to also set the z-order (in the Placeholder Properties) so that the HTML Widget containing the Vine embed code is below the Image Widget containing the frame. Since I only have two Placeholders in one Presentation, it's fairly straight forward:
If you have presentations using Vine or if you have further ideas on including your social media assets on digital signage, feel free to comment below.
