If you have tried our Google Calendar widget you may have noticed that you are only able to display a calendar belonging to a single user, which can be an obstacle if you want to display multiple events and tasks assigned to other users as well. Luckily, with Google’s embedding option, users can display multiple calendars or use their group calendar URL. This article will show you how.

Let’s head over to our calendar and navigate to our settings.

You will see a section labelled ‘Embed this Calendar’ click the customize link.

You will be forwarded to a page with an embedded code and customization options. Under ‘Calendars to Display’ check the calendars you would like shown. If your calendar is a group calendar, you will only need to select that one.

Next, copy the embedded code at the top of the page. Go back to your presentation, and create a placeholder with our HTML widget. In the configuration, paste the embedded code between thetags:

Remember to save your work.

Congratulations! Your calendar should now be able to display groups and multiple user events and tasks.

Embedding Google Calendars via our HTML widget also allows unique viewing capabilities. For example, in your first line of code after ‘/calendar/embed?’ input ‘mode=DAY&’ for a daily view of scheduled tasks or events.

You can also select an ‘Agenda’ view of your calendar, which looks like the following:

Simply enter ‘mode=AGENDA&’ after ‘/calendar/embed?’ within your code.

I hope this helps! If you have any issues or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment below.

Great explanation Ashleigh.

I know this question has been asked a few times before but is there anyway a private calendar/s can be embedded in this way? This must be a very common issue? Can some sort of authentication code be added?

Any ideas...

Hi Matt,

I'll look into this for you, but as forewarning it seems less-than-likely.

I'll let you know as soon as possible.

Hello again,

Unfortunately, our player does not support authentication.

Alternatively, you could display the document by sharing only with a particular user, and have that user login on your player in order to have access. Does this make sense?

Hi Ashleigh,

I am having a hard time understanding this resource without the visual aids. Is it possible to update the resource with new images? Thank you.
