Hi, I see you have updated Risevision however now when I update my background image of a presentation it just shows a blank screen

There also is an issue with accessing what is now called my 'storage'
It keeps coming up blank even though I have a lot of images stored

Sorry to hear you're having difficulty,

Can you let us know what browser you are using (and version). Also have you tried clearing the cache on your browser to see if that corrects what you're seeing?

Thanks.

Can you confirm that the file you are using contains any spaces? If it does, can you upload a version without spaces and try again?

Thanks.

I have this issue as well. We disabled wifi, so it is only using ethernet, but our background is not showing up. It is hosted on photobucket and shows up in the preview, but not on the display, itself.

I assume when you restart the player the background reappeared?  That could be an issue with the box itself trying to retrieve the image (resources if the presentation has a lot going on in it, or network).  It could also be an issue related to Photobucket.

I asked about Rise Storage since then you could eliminate Photobucket from the equation.

If the image size is huge and has to be scaled down to fit in the allotted space then I would suggest reducing the size of the image and see if that helps.

Just curious, how did you add the background?  Did you add it with a large placeholder behind everything else, or did you add it from the Presentation settings to set a background image?  Whichever method you used to add the background, can you try the opposite method?

Thanks for the suggestion. The image is 1920x1080 png. I added it from both presentation settings and as a placeholder. Again, they look fine in preview but do not display on actual display.

Okay, since the issue is sporadic it might be a pain but there are some other things you can try to narrow down the source of the issue:
1) Set up another machine to use as a test and see if the issue happens there as well (Preview doesn't count)
2) Try a different location to store the image
3) Create a new presentation with only that image in it
4) Try the Developer console and look for any errors (https://help.risevision.com/user/player/chrome-app/enable-dev-console-rev1?cid=f114ad26-949d-44b4-87...)

Set up a Picasa account, and now background works.

That's good to hear, thanks for the update.  You did say it was a sporadic issue though so if it recurs then maybe the tips above will help.
