Hi,

I am kinda of confused. I have set of 135 displays. Almost all displays run 20 common contents/presentations.
Now i have a campaign which i need to run only in 50 displays along with these 20 common contents/presentations.

What i tried was created a presentation of the campaign and then selected only 50 displays from the display list. Then i put this presentation into the schedule which is running across 135 displays along with the 20 common presentations. But what happens is when the loop comes to play the presentation it comes as white screen on rest of the 85 displays.

Request if anybody can help me out with best method for scheduling.

XMedia,

Have you created two different schedules? You will need to create one schedule and select the first 50 displays, referencing the presentation(s) you want them to play. Likewise, you will need to create another schedule, and select the remaining 85 displays referencing the presentation(s) that should be appearing there.

hi blake,

I have just create one schedule. So this is pretty tricky. So i will adopt that way.
But then i wonder why that option of selecting specific displays from distribution in presentation part.

Prakash

Prakash,

Although display distribution from placeholder is a rarely used item, it gives users the opportunity to set two placeholders in the same place, and distribute each one to a different display on a schedule.

Hello, I,am facing a similar problem., and what I found is, that if I have 1 presentation with 2 placeholders in the same place, and let say PH1 goes just to Display 1 and PH2 to Display 2.
(Both Place Holders are videos) The problem is that within the presentation settings you need to decide which placeholder will be the PLAY UNTIL DONE, but it causes an infinite loop. So how would be the best way to have 1 schedule that shows common presentation, and at the same time add a presentation to the same schedule but just to selected displays?

Dear Luis,

I have found a work around for this. In The presentation properties setting, you can use an image artwork which is generic/common for all displays. And manually set the duration of the videos instead of PUD. Make sure you remove the ticks from video widget settings for 1) resume playing from last position 2) show video control. Select the specific displays where you want to show the video from distribution. This way once the video plays out it will display the generic artwork on either of the displays instead of looping the video or showing blank white screen.

regards
Prakash.

Hello Prakash, thanks for your suggestions¡  I will try to play with that, the only issue is that I was trying to avoid the input of the duration of the videos, since I want the 2 placeholders to point to a video widget folders with different video's length, but I will try.
Thanks, regards!
