Looking at using these for wireless presentation in my classrooms and see that it has the ability to show a URL when not in use. I wonder if this would be able to display a Rise sign via URL?

Ben,

We've never tested on them, but I would be very interested to hear how they run.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I'm a part of the Airtame team and I'm happy to answer any questions.

Airtame can show websites and dashboards on a TV, as long as the URL is public, meaning that it doesn't require a login.

This is possible, because Airtame's background is actually a web browser.

Let me know if you'd like to test if Rise Vision works with Airtame. Maybe we could test it in the office, if we're provided with a sample URL. :)

All the best,
Jessica

Hi Robb, I've had someone ask about how to obtain the URL needed for it to work with a device like Airtame. The URL has to be public, meaning, no login is required, as there's no way for Airtame to input information. Would you be able to give more insight into how you can get a URL with Rise Vision?

Thanks,
Jessica

Jessica,

The URL I think you need is referred to as a "Display URL". It is similar to a Presentation preview, however it uses a specific Display ID instead of a Presentation ID.

I must stress that we typically do not recommend using this URL for 2 reasons:

1. If this URL is opened on more than 1 browser instance, it causes the prior instance to show a message that the Display ID is being used in more than 1 place, and the prior instance will no longer update the Presentation until it is restarted.
2. There will be no caching functionality with this URL, so all content will be downloaded in the browser instance, so you don't want to have a lot of large content in there as that will be downloaded each time the Player is restarted, instead of being cached on the device.

To obtain a Display URL, copy your Display ID from the Display Settings page. Preview a Presentation, and in that preview URL, change the word "presentation" to "display", and change the long alphanumeric presentation id to the shorter Display ID, and refresh.

I hope that helps!
