Hardware Distributor Thread

Just curious what vendors or distributors people are finding work well for them. Seems like an abundance of information and lots of hoops to get reliable vendors, especially for commercial monitors and displays? Any particular sites or companies that you like?

We have about 200 units in the field at current (with our in-house solution). We're looking to grow into more professional territory and would like some good monitors instead of consumer TVs.

For that matter, do you all have a preference of consumer vs commercial grade monitors? TVs have worked well for us so far (over 3 years) but we'd like to test out some nicer monitors. We have used consumer monitors for our smaller displays. Any features you like, or have you found TVs to be fine?

There's just a huge amount of information and I always run into back-ordered and discontinued products. The few we have tried were nice, but not sure if the cost was worth it.

Looking for some other experiences. :)

Hi Wendi,

My 2 cents, displays are displays so whatever you are comfortable with will work - but the biggest benefits of commercial grade is they seem to have more life, better warranty (3 years), and the models stick around a little longer than consumer stuff.

If you look at the top tier providers like NEC, Samsung, and LG they all do a good job quality wise and innovating but you are right you have to jump through a few hoops to purchase as you can't go direct.  They all follow a distribution model.  So if you are an end user you will need to find a reseller (AV company or a big box mover like Best Buy or CDW) if you are an integrator you can work with the distributors and the main players seem to be Ingram Micro, Synnex, Almo if you want to check them out.

AS for features - I really think it comes down to commercial grade are made to better handle heat and conditions where they are running 18+ hrs a day verses a consumer TV that is designed to run 4 to 6.

Hi Wendy,

From our experience here at All graphic Supplies, we are in a slightly different boat than everyone else.  We are strictly a hardware dealer and have no interest in  designing or even dealing with the end users.  We have been in business for over 24 years and have moved into the digital platform within the last year.

We understand dealing with the larger companies ( i.e. Samsung, LG, NEC ect...) and even places like BestBuy can be challenging and will make you jump through hoops to get the products that you need to complete your job.  All of our products are of the commercial grade, and are rated as 24/7 with 3 year warranty.  With both Kiosks and wall mount screens as a solution.   Feel free to check out our website link is below to see our products, If you have any questions feel free to give us a call.

We have a complete solution for all our customers in Canada and the United States.  We have been using Rise Vision as the platform of choice, as we find this as the easiest and simplest platform to use.
