I am trying to add a new google spreadsheet widget and when I go to configure it, nothing is there.  Not even my old sheet that I have in a different presentation.  What could be the problem?  I have confirmed all the steps within the spreadsheet to make sure that it is public, but nothing at all populates in the drop down when I go the placeholder to configure it.

Have you published it to the web under the same Google account you are using for Rise Vision?

I am working only in the new editor and like I said everything is fine on my end. Lets talk about the PC you are using to create you presentation. What is the internet browser you are working in?

Do the test. Create a brand new Google Spreadsheet with some simple text in it, publish it and make it available. Then restart you browser or even better, the pc, and then create brand new presentation with one placeholder containing only spreadsheet widget. See if that widget would be able to see the spreadsheets under your account, then try inserting that new spreadsheet file and see if it works.

I actually just tries that.  I just rebooted my machine and tried to share a new spread sheet  and still nothing populates when I got to the configure button and hit the select spreadsheet button.

Hi Joy,
Which presentation are you currently working on? I saw that shop floor job schedule is the most recent one.
The Widget currently doesn't have a spreadsheet associated with it, to configure it select 'Add Spreadsheet'. If the Spreadsheet that you're looking for is not there, go to Google Drive and you may need to re-upload the Spreadsheet again into your own Google Drive.

Also on the spreadsheet where the main title is, there is going to be an "Add to My Drive" icon (see attached)

If the icon is there, it means that the spreadsheet is somehow not in your Drive.

Correct, it doesn't have a spreadsheet in it because it doesn't give me the option to pick any when I select the "add spreadsheet button.  I tripled checked that I have all the permissions for the share and make public that are listed in the how to SOP that I was given.  I can't even see the sheet that was already viewable that I have in a different presentation. I have rebooted just in case, but still nothing.  I must be missing some very small key ingredient.

This is what I followed when I set up the google sheet.  I just went thru the steps for the 10th time and everything is set correctly according to these directions.

Thanks Joy. I have a feeling that the spreadsheet that you want to add is not in your Google Drive which is why it's not there.

On the spreadsheet itself, if you can see the 'Add to Google Drive' button (Google Drive logo with + on it) where the title is located it means that it's not in your Google Drive. Could you check? If it's there, select 'Add to Google Drive' then check to see if that spreadsheet is now viewable when you select Add Spreadsheet. I did the same thing for the Daily Order Report.xls spreadsheet - after adding your spreadsheet into my Google Drive I was then able to find it in my own collection.

Thanks!

Hannah

Hi Joy
I can see the Job Shop Sheet presentation. It might be quicker that we do this over the chat support, so I sent through an in-app message to you (you should see it when you are logged in risevision.com)

Hi Joy,
Thanks for your time on the chat support, it looks like we have the spreadsheet and preview is now working.

To recap:
1. We logged into incognito mode in Chrome. The issue may be due to multiple logins on Chrome which is why you were not able to view the spreadsheet that you were working on even while logged into Rise Vision.
2. For the spreadsheet, make sure to clear formatting in the spreadsheet via Format > Numbers > Plain Text and also to select Format > Clear Formatting.
3. To view the rows, make sure that there is test data in the cells. The test data could be a space, number, word etc.
4. It looks like the original presentation had retained the old settings (?), so I've re-added the widget again and can preview the spreadsheet now on your original presentation.

Let me know if there is anything else.

Thanks!

Hannah
