So I'm having a weird issue.. I would like to display a menu on our system and so far I've been able to link up the spreadsheet to pull the right information on the right day, but I'm having a problem with line breaks not working.  It puts everything on the same line.

Here is my source:

As you can see... not the prettiest thing in the world or easy to understand.  I would appreciate any suggestions and would also not be opposed to looking at an alternative, but it does need to pull from this spreadsheet if possible.

Hello Benjamin,

Very interesting. Could you tell me the name of the company in your account? I wasn't able to find this Presentation based on the e-mail address used here.

Benjamin, just add <br> in Google sheets where you want breaks to appear. I do that all the time. Other HTML markups work as well, such as <strong> <p> and others.

Seems like that works!  My only issue is that the person that updates this spreadsheet also prints it out for our residents.  Wish there was a way that Google Sheets would automatically insert that tag.

It is not a perfect world, right ))) Try changing color for <br> to match background color. But I think alignment would still be an issue.

Benjamin,

Looking at your spreadsheet, there is a lot of spare content on the left separating breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My advice here would be to show only the range of the cells for each day. You can use a image widget or text widget to denote breakfast, lunch, dinner, or other headers at top/bottom. This may make it easier to select content as well, and provide additional flair for the Presentation.. i.e. make it more "pretty" :)

Mike Thomas

I'm only showing the cell E6, but unless I put a <br> tag in there, it ignores the line breaks.  Wish I could fix it without having to add the extra code, which I'm sure will confuse the employee performing this task ;)
