Google sheet format empty cells

I have a presentation with a couple of Google Sheet widgets. The values on this Sheet build throughout the day. My problem is that these values begin at 0 and build from there, so when the presentation initiates, if there are no non-zero values in the columns, that column isn't displayed at all. How can I keep the formatting of all columns even if it is empty?

Top: Expected format, and format after a non-zero value is in each column.
Bottom: Actual format before a non-zero value is added.

Brian,

I have no time to test it myself today, but you could try to insert HTML "blank space" code: " " (no quotation marks). I usually do this when need some extra padding, but thought it may do the trick for yor you too.
