Google photo album not displaying in Rise gadget

I am using the classic editor for my Rise Vision display. We used to have a bunch of images that played in one of our placeholders. If I open up the placeholder, the "Rise Vision Photo Album" is there and the type is "gadget". We used to have a link in there that linked to our Google photos here: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipOfARHqWXiM_bmfYuxeGDf2nVtaOCET_IEtF36f5mNzAWP3ElwvSrPRQcHpvXd8...

I didn't set this up, but the link in the photo album gadget has gone missing. When I try and link to the photo album again with this link (see above), it does not pull the photos through. I'm not sure if I'm using the right link or not.

We've messed around with this and tried everything, but cannot seem to get it to work.

Any thoughts? Is it possible that the classic editor used a "gadget" that the current editor does not?

Hi Erin,

Yes - in fact that's exactly what it is.  Gadgets from the classic editor don't work in the new editor.  Many of the Widgets in the classic editor will work in the new editor but not all.  Unfortunately, the Photo Album gadget has been deprecated and is no longer available.  i would suggest using the Rise Vision Storage and the image widget.  This allows you to link to folders of images and you just manage the images in your folder.

Alternatively, you can browse our store for other widgets that allow you to link to instagram etc.

I hope that helps

Thank you so much! This was indeed the issue I was facing. I will be looking at the new interface and see what changes we can make. Thank you, again, for responding.

The former Photo Album gadget was free.  As far as I can tell, none of the free gadgets available in the new editor allow showing a series of images from an MRSS feed.  Is there any plan to re-add that capability using a free gadget in the new editor?

Hi David,
To confirm, are you currently trying out an MRSS feed on the new RSS Widget on the new Editor? We've added in a new feature on the RSS Widget that utilizes https://validator.w3.org/ if you are inputting an MRSS feed link and seeing the link validate (or not).  Do you have a link to the MRSS?
We no longer have the Photo Album gadget available since it's a legacy content item but the repo/source is at https://github.com/Rise-Vision/gadgets

Thanks.  I'm using an MRSS feed from Picasaweb to show an image slideshow.  The RSS feed worked with the old photo album gadget but is not validating on the new beta RSS widget.  I can provide the URL off-board if you would like.
