Google Calendar Widget Play until Done

In a presentation, I have a Google Calendar Widget as the only item in a placeholder called calendar.  In the presentation settings, I have marked the calendar placeholder as the play until done placeholder.  I have inserted this presentation into a placeholder of the master presentation to allow the use of Play until Done in the nested presentation.

Unfortunately, it just hangs and repeats the calendar indefinitely  I would expect that using a Google Calendar Widget, the calendar would play through once and transition to the next item in the Master presentation.

It seems that the Google Calendar Widget does not support Play until Done or if it does, it is broken (at least for me).  Unfortunately, if you have a variable calendar that sometimes has lots of items and sometimes very few, this is a concern.

Ben,

This is a known issue with PUD functionality within embedded presentations. We have an article here that addresses a work around on the subject.

I just tried this with the same results as before- Adding an empty PUD placeholder inside an Empty Presentation and adding this whole mess into to the Master Presentation did not correct the issue.  Does it need to be included in any particular location (last, first, etc)?

More Details - This Master presentation has 4 presentations within it.  No presentation has video.  Nested presentations include:
  • One of these is the PUD Fix.
  • One is my main content  with more nested presentations (and some of those presentations have presentations nested as well - I assume there is no limit)  This plays perfectly.
  • A presentation for the Weather that has 3 placeholders (2 html and 1 text).  This seems to play fine.
  • The last is the 'sticking' presentation which has just 2 placeholders - one has a single HTML content item that is the background.  The other Place holder has just one content item which is a single calendar item.  The placeholder for the calendar item is marked in its presentation as PUD.
Mixing the order pf presentations did not change anything - it's always the calendar that sticks whether its first middle or last, not does it matter wherever the 'PUD' Fix presentation is either.

Any other advice?

Is your Calendar Widget configured to scroll or page through the data? If so, is the amount of data from the Calendar enough to trigger the Widget scrolling?

Ben,

Sorry about that. These presentations are quite a bit more complex than I initially thought. I've added an empty text item to "School Event Calendar" in the Calendar placeholder. I've set it to not appear on any displays. This allowed me to set the Calendar Widget to Play Until Done.

In preview, it looks like this fixes your problem. Can you confirm?

Looks good to me.  So to clarify for anyone else, you only added an empty text item in the existing placeholder in the existing presentation that was stuck in a loop.

Smacks Button - That was easy.
