Get article URL from RSS feed

I'm trying once again to hack around the limitations of the RSS widget and now I can't seem to find a way to get the article URL from the RSS feed, which is a pretty essential function of an RSS reader.

How do I get the URL of the article that's being displayed into the layout?

Sorry Chris,

I think you would need a Custom Layout for the RSS Widget to complete this. In your Custom Layout, you would set it up so that the URL shows in the layout, and as long as it was being supplied in the RSS Feed, it would show in the custom Layout in your Presentation. Information on how to set up a Custom Layout can be found in the RSS Widget's GitHub repo: https://github.com/Rise-Vision/widget-rss

I hope that helps!
The RSS feed supplies the URL in the <link> XML tag per spec. The Github readme for the RSS widget does not list a way to retrieve the <link> tag.

Chris,

Let me look into this and I will let you know once we have something.

Thanks!

Chris,

The Widget does not surface the article link as a part of a standard or custom layout. This is a limitation of the Widget. If possible, I would recommend you use our rise-rss web component in your own HTML to retrieve just the rss data and develop their own custom layout to retrieve the info you need.. - https://github.com/Rise-Vision/rise-rss

I hope that helps!
