Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know how I can add a external USB or RJ45 Ethernet connected flashing LED Light to a C110 Media Player, so when a message is published and starts to play, the LED Light flashes  after the signal passes through it  for a few seconds then stops?

Please let me know.
Thank You,
JB

HI JB,
The only thing I can think of is something to do with integrating perhaps an Arduino or Raspberry Pi with the LED light. They won't be integrated with the C110 but work separately. The other thing is that if you are going to have specific messages being timed, an idea is pushing out a trigger to have the LED light work in tandem with the scheduled message/presentation...

JB,

Have you reached out to suppor@cenique.com to see if they had any ideas?

Thanks!

I am working on a project that combines Arduino with Rise Vision to enable interaction between signage screens and real-world events.  So far it's coming along nicely but it requires quite a bit of custom work, so I suspect that a solution of the Arduino type might be too expensive if all you need is a flashing LED.

Could you comment on what sort of notification event is generated when a message is published?

Without knowing the details of your application, I wonder if it would be feasible to use a picture of an LED on a signage screen, and use JavaScript and CSS to make it blink?  That way the whole notification system operates within the web browser context, which greatly simplifies programming.

On a side note, would be interested to know more about this project!

Steve,

When you say "when a message is published" are you referring to when a Presentation is published?

You can get all the details about what happens when a Presentation is published in our Developer documentation. I think this may be what you need: https://help.risevision.com/developer/viewer-api/notifications/channel

Let me know if that helps!

Hi Robb,

I was uncertain about JB's meaning of "when a message is published" in the original post - does this mean, as you suggest, when a presentation is published, or do new messages come from a dynamic source, as in an RSS feed or Google Spreadsheet?  In either case, the tricky part is figuring out where and how to put a hook in the code to trigger the blinking LED.  I agree that the document you cited is helpful.
