I'm wanting to use RiseVision to display digtital signage on a touchscreen that often has to be used to give Powerpoint presentations.  How would I build in a button to allow a user to launch PowerPoint, but still have the player playing in the background?

Hi Chris,

We don't have a button like you describe, but you might be able to accomplish this in the HTML.  It will be interesting to see if any other members here have a solution for this.

I've experienced before how MS Office likes to kill commands coming from the web to open desktop apps, and it breaks with ever security upgrade, so I'm going to be doing a little tinkering in the meantime.

My initial thought is to have the presentation/s in Prezi since you are then able to generate a HTML code which is embeddable.  It depends on how many presentations you have to link to though and if you need to stay on the Powerpoint platform since this is moving content from one platform (Powerpoint) to another (Prezi).

See Powerpoint to Prezi https://prezi.com/support/manual/ppt-import-tutorial/
See details on embedding Prezi to third party apps (incl Rise Vision - I've done a brief try-out for another user that is looking to do the same) https://prezi.com/support/article/sharing/embedding-prezis/
