Error After Content Plays A While

I'm getting an error message when the Rise Platform runs for long periods of time. (A few hours min, a day max)
The link to a picture of the error is here:

It says that something went wrong on the page. This is the second time I've seen this, it's usually after I leave the display running for a while without touching it. This is the second time I've seen it this month - this recent time it was after about 5 hours untouched. The other time, it happened overnight.
Any suggestions?

After restarting the presentation (not the player) the screen is stuck on all white with the progress bar in the upper left. Wondering if this is a helpful clue..but maybe not lol.

Alex, can you tell us which Company this is under and what Presentation it is in that Company? We need to run that for awhile and trap what's causing this error. Curious, is there any Flash in here? Thanks!

Alex,

We've seen this happen when a Plugin on the page crashes. 9 times out of 10 it is Flash, but it could be any Plugin that the page is using.

Refreshing and showing only a blankscreen occurs because since the plugin has crashed, a refresh is not going to load it again, only stopping and restarting the browser will do that.

If you would prefer to email over the Company/Presentation name, feel free to send it over to support@risevision.com.

Thanks!

Hey guys,I actually do not have any flash or videos in the presentation. Just pictures, weather, and a twitter feed.
It should also be noted that I restarted the player, and the presentation didn't work again. It stayed at the blank white screen. I stopped the service and started it again, with the same result.

Then I restarted the player again, and the presentation started fine. It has been running since this morning, so we'll see how it does overnight.
The presentation is under my company, and the presentation is my company name.

Ok, I also realized there was some issues with the WiFi going on..which may have been the reason for the blank screen. I'm still skeptical though about the plugin crash.

Skeptical is always safer :). I'll run this presentation on one of my Displays all day tomorrow to see if I can recreate the crash. I'd recommend running Perfmon in the background to track the actions of the CPU, Memory and Hard drive, something there may be a key indicator of crashing.

I'll let you know what I find!

Alex,

I've got this Presentation running on my Linux and my weaker Windows player with the Perfmon counter running. I will let you know what I see.

Thanks!

Alex,

Just wanted to give you a heads up that I have had this Presentation running on my Linux and weak wireless Windows machine for 5+ hours and everything is still going strong.

Looking at the Perfmon counters on the Windows box, they are high but not in danger territory. Also you need to take into consideration that this is a Atom N270 CPU with only a gig of RAM, so it isn't built to be a powerhouse.

I'll keep this presentation running overnight on both machines to see if I can recreate the Plugin crash.

Have you seen it again? Have you tested it on any other machines? I wonder if there is something specific about that machine that is having trouble..

I'll keep you posted.

The Presentation never crashed, and after some email communication with Alex, looks like it may have been some funky wi fi issues that caused trouble here.

Case closed!

hey Robb- I've been running my presentation for 3 days, and then last night the 8.5x11 presentation jammed, and shows no content- can you tell me more details on getting the perfmon application you're talking about?
I have no flash elements in the presentation- i'll email you the link to the presentation

Let us know if you need a hand interpreting the perfmon results.

Hi,
I have got same error, same screen.
Same prersantation and same display settings i have got.
I did not change anything.
First we tought that antivirus program or somethingelse making this problem and we formated the computer and reinstall the RiseVisionPlayer.exe . But again the same screen appers. After some investigation i found an error on my displays tab. The error is "This display has been blocked and the block can last up to 3 hours. Click here for details on this error." But display is playing, nothing blocked, only notification is there and red heart is up, shuts down due to this error in 30 minutes. when i say reload works again. What can ı do about this problem?
Edit : i am using cable for connecting.

The Display isn't actually being blocked.  The system is just recording the conditions that would currently meet a blocking situation, but isn't taking any further action.

How often is the Display showing the message?  I would suggest running the Task Manager, or Perfmon to see what your CPU and Memory are doing when running the Presentation.  It may also be necessary to remove content in order to find out the offending item.

Thanks.

Hi,
Yes nothing is blocking, i think, because of the error (every 30-60 minutes ) my display requesting data more then usual, and system  giving blocking error message.
I have a performance monitoring plan. when it is finished, I will look and sned to you.
