Easy way to embed youtube video in presentation

Here is an example on how to use youtube videos in your presentation. I have been playing around with html code and embed video, so i came up with this solution.

In placeholder use HTML as a content and paste this code:

<iframe width="824" height="485" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/GRonxog5mbw?autoplay=1&loop=1&showinfo=0&controls=0"; frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Width and height should match the size of your placeholder if you want to use video in fullscreen in your placeholder. the GRonxog5mbw is the Video ID, so if you want to use your video just paste the ID instead of that one, or just open your clip in youtube, click the Share button below the clip and select embed and from the code copy only full adress, in our case www.youtube.com/embed/GRonxog5mbw and replace the current adress in the code

The code is made in a way that your video wont show up controls.

Now if you want your video to loop automatically, just add this in the code after controls=0 :

&playlist=GRonxog5mbw

Again, the bolded is VIDEO ID which we covered earlier.

so the code should look like this:

<iframe width="824" height="485" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/GRonxog5mbw?autoplay=1&loop=1&showinfo=0&controls=0&playlist=GRonxog5mbw"; frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

This is fine when inserting one video. When you want to insert multiple videos using add/HTML a few times, you will have a problem. Since the first one is looping, there is no way that the other one will play. Even if you dont use loop, there is another problem. If you have inserted few videos and start the presentation, all three will start to play in the same time, even though you will see only first one onscreen. when the first one finishes, if its longer than the second one, when second one shows on the screen it will be over. In that case i suggest you upload the videos in your youtube channel and let the playlist play and loop.

The code for that should be this:

<iframe width="824" height="485" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/videoseries?list=PLG_WZ6Aw6x4FH5uVdciHwO4sP4Ys0GLnv;autoplay=1&loop&showinfo=0&controls=0&playlist=PLG_WZ6Aw6x4FH5uVdciHwO4sP4Ys0GLnv" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Again pay attention to the bolded stuff. width and height to match a placeholder and VIDEO ID

You can try the code i have made to see if it works for you, and change the links.

If you have any problems let me know :)

IMPORTANT: RISEVISION DOES NOT CACHE THE YOUTUBE VIDEOS, SO YOU STREAM THEM ALL THE TIME, SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH BANDWIDTH. ALSO, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE INTERNET CONNECTION, OTHERWISE VIDEOS WILL NOT SHOW UP

Enjoy

It works in every way except that it does not loop for me

Steve,

Can you make sure you have included loop=1 in the iframe url?

Thanks Blake. I had done that, but it did not loop straight away. I was too impatient because shortly afterwards it did loop. Incidentally, the code on the page above does not say loop=1, just loop and I had to change it to make it work.

If I want to add subtitles, where should I add "&cc_load_policy=1" to this code?

Hi KICL, I have not had to do that before so I am not sure, but I would try adding that at the end of the code.

Does anyone know if you can make a video restart playing once the schedule has cycled through

UL Reach,

Can you take a look at this thread? It should give you some more information on looping youtube videos.
