The player is running the video files well. This is great, however I am running my networks on 3G and sometimes the router or modem fails. Are the files chached on the hard drive in order for them to run when there is no communication with the server. From my tests so far I get an Error. Please advise on suggestions.

If you are using the Windows or Linux Player, the files are cached to the Player and played from there.  If the network connection drops, the Player should continue to play the content it has received.  If you restart the Player when there is no network connection, the Player won't show any content, but will have a loading screen with a message stating that the network connection failed and will retry.

When you say you get an error, what error do you see?

Thanks.

Hi Neal,
Yes this is the message I get " The network connection failed " with a red circle with an x on it.
As we will be running digital signage software on many machines in the field it would be best if the machine would startup and run the most recent presentation even if no network is present.  Is there a way this could be programmed into the player? I am very happy with what I see when it comes to this software however this particular setting or system protocol would result in too many site call outs meaning loss of revenue I believe. Hence we may need to purchase windows licenses and run on other software. Any advice? Either way I really like RiseVision.
Chat soon.

HI Brendan,

Currently the Player needs an internet connection when starting up in order for it to receive information on the Presentation it will play. There isn't functionality that will bypass this requirement at this time.

If you need anything further, please let us know.

Thanks.
