Im developing content for multiple clients in which im using a consistent layout however certain things change from client to client. For example im utilizing a placeholder and the image widget to slide through different brands that client carries. Now to reduce the amount of presentations, it is to my understanding that i can have multiple image widgets within said placeholder and send specific image sliders to specific displays. i dont fully understand if this works and if it doesnt how can i preview both sliders?

Hi there Supps,

With the Rise software, you have 3 layers of being able to send specific content to specific displays.

1 - In Schedules.  You didn't ask about this but in the Schedules app, you assign whole presentations to specific displays (distribution)
2 - In Placeholders.  If you look in the Placeholder Properties, you have a Distribution checkbox that is set to All Displays by default.  You can uncheck that box and then assign that placeholder to only show up only on specific displays.
3 - In Playlists.  Each item in a playlist has a Distribution checkbox that is set to All Displays by default.  You can uncheck that box and then assign that playlist item to only show up on specific displays.

A couple of notes.

Note:  This is a hierarchy set up.  So you cannot assign a playlist item to show up on a display if the placeholder it's in is not assigned to play on that display, or if the presentation itself is not assigned to that display.  Or another way of saying this - when a placeholder is set to 'All Displays', that means it's going to appear on all the displays that presentation is playing on.   If a playlist item is set to All Displays, that means its going to show up on all the displays that the Placeholder it's in is playing on.

Note:  In preview, we ignore both distribution and timelines so that you can see what your content is going to look like.  So if you have several placeholders stacked on top of each other, you are going to see all the content stacked on top of each other as well - including content that is not currently scheduled to play.   The displays will adhere to the distribution and timelines.

I hope that helps - let me know if I need to explain this in a different way.
