Robb,

I have added a new company to my network. I assigned schedule and presentation to company. New cpu with windows 7. I downloaded player.

When I executed the player all I get is a white screen. Can you help?

Thanks

Hi Rick,

Looking for a bit more information. Do you get a loading animation when you started the Player? When you Preview the Presentation and/or Schedule, does everything show up fine? If you remove the Display from the Schedule, does it show Demonstration content?

It may be beneficial if you could email support@risevision.com with a link to the Presentation so we can look at it as well.

Thanks,

The player launched, but I did not get a loading animation.
Presentation and schedule fin. I do not see a display in the schedule, just the correct presentation.

I just sent presentation link.

A note, this is my first network display. I have removed the RVA from the new cpu and downloaded again.

Thanks for the help

Rick

Rick,

We just tried your Presentation here on a Windows 7 computer, as well as on a Linux computer. In both cases, the Presentation ran fine. I would suggest clearing your cache. You can read up on how to do so in this blog post. Please let us know if you encounter any further difficulty

Thanks!

I cleared the cache and restarted. I did get the loading animation, but still a white screen.

Should the schedule, presentation and display have the same name?

I noticed these names are asterisked?

We noticed the Presentation isn't Published. If you Publish the Presentation, does it show up on the Display soon thereafter?

The Schedule, Presentation and Displays can all have different names. Are you referring to the Field names having asterisks? This is to indicate they are required fields and must be filled in order to save the Presentation/Display/Schedule.

Hi. I’m having the same issue.

I have 4 displays showing the same presentation. One of the four displays a white screen. No animation at all.

I have no idea why. Also I’m totally new to your product. So maybe it is a simple fix. Please help.

I’m told it has never worked right on this particular display. I’m thinking it may be a Resolution issue. Can you clarify? The current Resolution on this display is 1364 x 768.

Is it possible that that specific machine is not included in the Schedule? If it is showing on the other machines, but not this one, I'm willing to bet it is something about that machine.

If you log into the system on that machine, can you preview the Presentation successfully?

Is there be any firewall or security software preventing the Presentation from showing correctly?

You may want to clear the entire cache on the Display to make sure they there was no corruption with any of the downloaded elements of the Presentation. This post will show you how.

If you can send a link to your Presentation to support@risevision.com, we will see if there is anything we notice out of the ordinary in the Presentation, but I am fairly confident the issue here is the machine itself.

Thanks!

Thanks for the additional info, that sounds like the Player is not successfully connecting, or is being blocked by something.

You may want to try removing the Player completely from that machine and reinstalling it. This post explains how to remove the Player completely.

Let us know how you make out.

Thanks.

Clearing the cache didn't do it. But re-installing did. Thanks for your help!

Help! I'm getting frustrated.
I have 4 Displays running the same presentation. All four are configured exactly the same (same computer model, same graphics card, same monitor). 3 of them work as they should. The forth however will not run the presentation. All I get is a white screen. What kills me is that if I remove the display from the schedule the default/sample risevision presentation runs just fine.
I have already tried:
Clearing the Cache
Reinstalled Rise Vision
RVA Platform Recommended Optimization Tweaks for windows

There is no AV on this PC
Windows firewall is off
There is no web filter of any kind blocking it.

I have gone as far as reloading windows 7 giving it a completely fresh install with absolutely nothing else installed, still no luck.
Also, if I preview the presentation that I want to run it also runs just fine.

I can post a url to my presentation if need be, but I need someone to tell me where to get it. Sorry I’m not that familiar with your product. I didn’t create the presentation in question (nor do I really know how its done), I’m just the guy who was assigned to fix it.

BTW netadmin in this post was me a while back. I was wrong re-installing never fixed it. Yes this is a problem with the same display.

Sorry to hear about the troubles.

When you are looking at the Presentation through the editor, can you email that URL to support@risevision.com? It will start with rva.risevision.com/#PRESENTATION_MANAGE/

Thanks,

Hello,

I am getting a white screen as well. First a white screen, then a loading animation and then back to a white screen. I have the presentation published, set to the active screen and set to display all the time.

The presentation works on screen when I use the preview link.

One other note is that I have a Google Slides Presentation embedded as HTML in the Rise Vision presentation. Not sure if that might be the problem. But like I said, it pulls it down fine in editor and preview.

Here is the link to the editor:

Here is the link to the preview:

Another side note is that it works fine using the Raspberry Pi. I don't want to have to use that though since I already have a Windows 7 box here and connected to this display.

Thanks.

Johnny,

It looks like you don't have any displays selected in the placeholder.

Ah ok I see. I did not realize I had to assign the placeholder to a display as well. I only assigned a display to the schedule. As shown below.

.

As always, thanks for your excellent help!

Hi, I have been using chromeboxes with the rise vision players on several displays here for a couple of months now. I am experiencing a problem now unfortunately. The displays had been working fine until 7/26. All of my displays are showing only a white screen. There is no loading animation, or anything showing on the screens. I have reinstalled the rise player and have cleared my cache, but nothing has worked so far.

This is also happening on my other two presentations as well. I may be overlooking something simple (and I hope that is the case), so I hope you can help!

Brent,

Are these Chromeboxes managed or unmanaged? Can you ensure they're running on the latest version of the Rise Player app?

Justin,

They are running the latest version. Even uninstalling and reinstalling the players does not help.

I don't want to muddy the waters, but we've been a whitescreen on our players and things not loading that use to work fine as well. It's a little bit different since many of the placeholders on top work ok. I posted my issue here: https://community.risevision.com/rise.... I don't know if the problems are related. But perhaps there's a link. We're testing taking the background image out and putting it into a full sized placeholder We haven't got any data points on that yet though to see if it's a permanent fix.

Hi Yoram,
I had a query for this presentation and responded back. It looks like a networking issue that may be a blocking/filtering the resources. Please have a look at our network requirements page at https://help.risevision.com/user/crea... under Install Rise Player to check.
