I've been having an issues with my displays when they disconnect/loose internet connection. Instead of playing from the cache, the display shows an error page. I have attached an image of the error.

Me too! I am not sure this was the best solution. There is content that can be played even when the Internet is down. For example there could be message only within Widgets that cannot play without connecting to a server.

I figured out the way to play content from the display's HD. I wanted to use this for situations like that, when the Internet is down. Basically all I wanted to do is have some nice background and a custom message, similar to the on in the posted photo. But I can't do that because when player senses it is offline, it shows this, I am sorry, terrible message. At least it could have been nicer.

Thanks for the feedback on the message, Darius. I'll pass it along to our developers!

Yeah. I know before a recent update the displays did just play from the cache. It would be a lot better to have a more subtle notice, like on the corner of the screen or something, and still have the cached content play.

Hey guys!

Are you seeing this message only after a Rise Player startup? E.g. The Media Player rebooted with no internet access, or the Rise Player restarted with no internet access.

Are you seeing this message while Rise Player has already been running? E.g. The Rise Player is displaying your Presentation, the network connection drops, and now you see this message.

I did not try every scenario, but I get this after player rebooted without Internet connection.

I am not sure about after it has started running. I've noticed the message appears on startup.

Rise Player requires an active internet connection at startup in order to display any content. If there is no active internet connection at startup, a “No internet connection available” error message will appear. We did revise the no active internet connection message recently, in our most recent release it will retry every 60 seconds instead of every 180 seconds.
