As mentioned earlier this week, we have implemented display blocking.

It is not likely that display blocking will affect you. However, if your display becomes blocked, please refer to the information contained in our original announcement.

Howdy!  My only RV display was blocked this morning when I got in. I have two 42" monitors that toggle between production schedules, and each time it re-requests the data from RiseVision's servers (with a content frame which looks to our own web servers for content).   I have it set to toggle between the schedules every 30 seconds.  Is there a better way to achieve this?  It's not necessary to reload the data every time, but I don't see any options to cache the presentations.

Thanks for the help, we love our RiseVision display!

Hi Shawn,

Sorry to hear that your display got blocked. Loading a new presentation every 30 seconds could absolutely cause this issue. Are the two presentations extremely different or are you just replacing the content of a widget or two?

If it's just a widget changing, you should definitely look at adding another widget to the existing placeholder in one of the presentations, and adding the content to it, then setting a timer in schedule to change it out every 30 seconds.

Hi Blake,
There are a total of three schedules that are being displayed.  Each schedule is updated once daily, so the information only changes once every 24 hours. The only reason for the reload is to toggle between them because we have 3 schedules and two monitors.  I'll look into a more creative way to do this, but any recommendations on which widget may help with this is appreciated.  It would help us keep our bandwidth usage down as well, since (if I'm able to figure this out) this single point of display could be extended to the other 20 or so schedule sign boards that I've deployed throughout our production facilities.

Thanks and have a great weekend,

Shawn

Blake,
I'd Like to read up on this, has not effected me.. just wanting to learn more, the link you provided "original Announcement" is bringing me to a Documentation on "Video" In a presentation. Also In regards to major announcements and updates, if there's a way to receive these via email whenever they are posted? Might just be a setting I need to change. I frequent the community page often, but I feel many times I miss these announcements. As we continue to grow our network using RV I want to make sure I am fully on top of everything an nothing is missed. Again man you have personally helped me alot of the past few weeks with questions and I greatly appreciate all the assistance and support offered.
