Disabling the Scheduled Reboot and the Player Browser Auto Upgrade options

Once we are satisfied with the way our presentations look on our displays, is there a downside to disable the two options ("Scheduled Reboot" and the "Player Browser Auto Upgrade") that could potentially make things break?

There are lots of threads in this forum about the player not starting after a reboot, or compatibility issues between the Chrome OS patch and Rise Player, etc, and it seems most of these could be avoided if things are left in a steady state by turning off automatic updates.  Thoughts?

We are currently running our presentations on Chromeboxes.  The only thing that I am concerned with is that we may not be able to disable auto update for the Chrome OS itself.

Nadeem,

If your Chromebox is managed, you can disable Chrome OS updates in the management console. I leave daily reboot on all of my players, and have never seen an issue.

We do agree with you regarding the last few Chrome OS updates, we're not happy with how the releases went, and we're actively pursuing answers from Google.
