I'm created my presentation a long time ago and have a placeholder which displays content from special pages on my website.  I had these setup with a Gadget using a URL.  Since the free storage is going away, I have moved all my files to my website to store them.  As I was updating my presentation, I changed the URLs on my gadget but everything quit working!  So I re-did all these URL from scratch.... But now when I try to add "Content by URL" add Gadget and enter my URL, I get the XML Error.  So I chanced from Gadget to URL.  So that seems to work, but there is also the option to add a Web Page Gadget under "Content" which looks more like what I did before.  So the question is: What is the difference???

Thanks for the question!

I'm going to try and cover all of the issues here, if I've missed something, I apologize! If you need more elaboration, I'd be happy to respond as well.

The web page gadget was removed from Rise Vision and replaced by the web page widget several weeks ago. You'll notice that the widget has some new configuration options. This should be capable of displaying any of your custom webpages, assuming they do not disable iframe embedding.

The "add content by URL" function is generally used by those that are hosting their own gadgets and/or widgets. If you have gadget or widget selected in the "add content by URL" item, and you are linking to a URL that does not reference a gadget or widget .xml, you will return an XML error. You can display a web page using this feature, but it may react in unanticipated ways, I recommend you try the widget.
