Hello,

Content manager for digital signage in my company, I'd like to ease the process for employees in order to display their own relevant content on some screens.

Instead of sending me everytime their contents to be uploaded and displayed, do you know a way to create a kind of repository where employees could put their contents that will be then displayed on screens.

If it doesn't exist, do you think developing such a platform would be a hard work ?

Thanks for your feedbacks !

What type of content are you trying to show? Have you read the thread on embedding a Google presentation (like PowerPoint) into your presentations? That's the easiest way to allow end-user editing.

On top of Google Slides that Robert mentioned previously, you can also have the same effect with Google Spreadsheets and the Spreadsheet Widget.

What sort of privacy reasons/concerns do you have? Is the content of a particularly sensitive nature?

Hi Bertrand,

One more thought for you.  If the content the individuals want to show are images or videos, you can use the image folder widget or video folder widget.  Assign each employee their own folder where they manage what images/videos are in there.   You just add the image folder to the playlist and then the display shows whatever the employee has in that folder.   Just another option to consider

Ray,

Given that the login to the RV storage is under my own email and password, how would I set the RV storage so that other users, as in this case above,  could have their own login and password to their own folder when they login.

Is there a way to add/assign users and access levels, as with other signage products?

Thanks,
Robert

Robert,

With Rise, there is not the ability to assign a user to a specific folder only.  To give users access to Storage (and the folders in storage) you need to add them as a user to your account.  This will allow them to log in and get to Storage.

We have different levels of users that you can add.

Editor - can log in and create and edit content, but not publish
Publisher - can create and edit content, and publish
Display Admin - can manage displays (add/delete/modify)
System Admin - can manage users, modify company settings, manage subcompanies
Store Purchase - can go to our online store and purchase widget (free or subscription)

So you need to be aware that if you give someone access to your account, they can access all of your presentations and all the folders in storage.  In this case, you would need to create a folder in storage with that person's name and base this on instructing them to only go there.  There aren't any checks in the software that would stop them from uploading to the wrong folder or deleting content from the wrong folder.

This is something we are discussing now, but at the moment, that is how it works (January, 2016)
