Computer full freeze during presentation

I leave my presentation running all day, which is what they will be doing once implemented. Some days when I come back into work the computer is frozen. I can't bring up task manager or anything. This only happens when the RisePlayer is on. Sometimes I can leave it up for a few days other times it only takes an hour or two to freeze. The media devices are using Windows 7 64 bit.

Hi there BayBrook,

This is difficult to troubleshoot, but my guess is another program that is installed is causing the lockup.

Just to be sure, could you follow the Windows Optimization Guide and set up your media player accordingly?

I will run through the optimization guide. Although I don't see the operation to disable windows onscreen keyboard. None of the windows machines have the option "Tablet PC Settings" under control panel.

You can ignore that portion of the guide.

I have followed the instructions for the device. I will wait to see what happens. If there is another freeze, what would be the next step? The device is a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit (All updates completed) the only things installed additionally is the GPU driver, Ethernet Driver and chipset driver.

BayBrook,

Thanks for the heads up on these errors. I'm going to try and recreate them and I'll log bugs for our developers.

Unfortunately I don't know of a quick and easy way to change the gadget out for the widget, I believe it will be a manual transition.

I'm noticing that there isn't a lot of the same functionality as the old text item. No indenting, no bullets etc. Because of this many of our text items won't translate over well, since some presentations are sort of "Information Walls" for the employees. Will more features be added to the text widget or is this it?

BayBrook,

I have recreated these issues and have logged defects for our developers at

https://github.com/Rise-Vision/widget-text/issues/57
https://github.com/Rise-Vision/widget-text/issues/56

You can follow their progress at those links.

Please let me know if you continue to experience crashes after switching over.

Will do, again as above; a lot of my text items won't translate well. Hopefully more functionality is added to the text widget.
