ChromeCast as a Player!?!

I would like to be able to use a ChromeCast as a player. It is super easy to setup and only $35! The problem is that due to the nature of the Chromecast to be an easy and pretty open setup and use, the device auto applies any command sent to it. So, if I send it the URL of my RiseVision Presentation and some enterprising student decides to open Chrome and screen cast a different URL to the Chromecast, it will just switch to that... The problem here isn't RiseVision, but rather securing a Chromecast...anyone know anyone at Google?

lol...Totally agreed Jake. The idea is sound, it's the easy ability to manipulate what the Chromecast is actually showing that is the issue.

I am going to try creating a separate wireless network that is secured differently than the staff, student, or guest network. If the Chromecast is configured on that network and my host machine is the only other device configured to be on that network, no one else should be able to "take over" the Chromecast.

Did anything come of this concept?
I am looking for Deployment Ideas as I start to build out our project.
Please advise.

Jim,

We haven't heard anything about this either. We're as excited as you are!
