Hi all,

i want to buy some chromebox to use it as minipc for digital signage with rise vision. I need this feature:

1) kiosk mode
2) auto reboot feature in bios if there is a ac power loss
3) possibility to schedule multiple power on and power off (i.e. a timer for monday a timer for friday and saturday etc etc)

is there any box that has all this feature? or i have to move to windows 7 pc?

Thanks a lot

Benito,

Chromeboxes are really great products to use with the Rise platform, however I'm not sure they meet all of your requirement.

  1. ChromeOS Kiosk mode is great!
  2. There is currently no option to auto-power on after power loss.
  3. You can schedule reboots using the Rise platform, however, only one per day.

And how can you power on the chromebox when you have a powerloss (if you have a lot of machine far away from your office)? Are you sure that there isn't any chromebox with this function?

Is there any machine (raspberrypi2 or any minipc) that support risevision and autopower after loss power?

And, how do you solve this problem in your case?

thanks

Benito,

We only sell the Asus Chromebox at this time, it does not have any setting for power on after power loss.

We do sell the Intel NUC which supports power on after power loss.

Benito,

I was mistaken. The Asus Chromebox does actually power back on after power loss. I hope this makes your decision a little easier.

The ASUS Chromebox I've just deployed will go to whatever state it was in before power loss. -i.e. if it was off, it would be off when power is restored, if it was on, it will power on. Model M004U.

Hi Blake,

How do you configure power on after power loss on Asus ChromeBox CN60.

Thanks,

sajornad,

To the best of my knowledge, this is not something that a user will configure, it's a default setting within the bios of the device. You may want to contact Asus directly about your question if you find that this is not the case.
