We've been using these since  December now and all has been good.. but now we've started getting random crashes across all 10 (kiosk).   We have one Chromebox (none kiosk (stand alone)) which has been fine no crashes.  I had it set to not update past .44 but as of today I have moved that to .47 (per Rise  - set Restrict Google Chrome version to at most to 47.*.) but have just seen crashes) - mind you the placeholder and content has not changed

Can you share your experiences using Chromebits..

Wondering if Wendi or Robert, two of our community champions would have any idea what's going on here. I believe they both use Chromebits quite frequently.

What kind of crashes are you getting? We have Chromeboxes running 24x7 on 47.0.2526.110 and have no issues whatsoever. They're all single-app Kiosk on a managed domain.

We haven't deployed Chromebits to the field yet so I can't speak to reliability on that hardware but if it's anything like the Chromeboxes I'm excited.

Thanks Robert!
Have you noticed any issues occur between the different presentation types on Chromebit?

I have not but my testing has been far from exhaustive. I intend to do more later this month when I come up for air. :)

Just so all know we are running 12 bits at three locations here and they rock.  I even have three feeding HDMI spitters.

Hi fellow Chromebit users. I have 50 of these that are running pretty well, with one exception. They're scheduled to reboot at 3am and the vast majority come back online, but maybe 1-2 of them get stuck at a Chrome screen waiting for a network connection. Have you guys experienced this? I'd like to keep the autoreboot enabled, if possible. I should note that I'm using a USB to ethernet adapter, and do not have a wifi config setup.

Jason, are they all on the same network?

Yessir. They're on a variety of VLANs, but all on the same network.

Watch your Frequencys bands.. It sounds just like what was happening hear.  Once I set/lock the WAP's up to all use the same band all my troubles disappeared.  Worked with Google and based on what they told me the CB's have issues reconnecting when multiple waps broadcasting different bands/frequencies

A good idea, but I'm using wired connections exclusively.

I assume they're all managed? I've never seen the behavior you're describing in out environment. Is it possible if they're all rebooting at one time that your DHCP server is being overwhelmed with all the simultaneous requests? Have you pulled the device logs from the Chrome Management console to see what they're doing on reboot when they go to the waiting for network screen?

They are all managed. The last entry in the event log is "2016-07-16 03:00:07 | System boot | 0" and nothing exists in the net.log at all. I'm now noticing some discrepancies between the Google and RV admin consoles, too. Some devices are reporting up in one, down in the other, and vice versa.

Hi all - how are the chrome bits working out for you now? Are they fast enough to drive full hd screens and do fade in/fade out transitions? How about video?

We use one on a mobile display. It's good enough to play full-screen 1080p video. That's about it. We have one video that plays in a loop. It doesn't change between videos or do any fades, etc. The issue is the RAM on the device is limited so lots of content will cause Chrome to crash.

Thanks for the feedback Robert!
