chromebit first timer

I have a chromebit running on a display with a Chrome management license.  I can boot the device and it runs the risevision ap without issue.  I enter the display ID and all is well... unless I lose power.  The device will reboot and re-launch the app, but sits waiting for the display ID or claim ID.  How do I get the chromebit to save the display ID?

Hi there Jacob!

There's a setting in Chrome Device Management under the Sign-in Settings subheading. It's called "User Data". Can you make sure this is set to "Do Not Erase" as outlined in this screenshot?

That is what I have set.  I am concerned that it's not saving the ID before I pull the plug.  Is there a save command / am I missing a step?

Jacob,

No after adding the display ID, it should be saved. Unless your ChromeOS device is wiping user data, I'm not certain what could be causing this.

Could you try powerwashing the device and reinstalling using the instructions located here?

Do you have the device configured as a single-app Kiosk? Is Public Session Kiosk enabled?

Yes and yes.

I'd disable public session kiosk. There's no reason for it and the anything launched under that session will lose its settings. Single app kiosk is all you want enabled. We disallow user sign-ons as well. If you need to access the device locally for some reason you can allow Guest mode only.
