Mark,

I'm not sure what popup you are referring to.  Can you take and attach a screenshot?

Thanks,

Matthew

Mark,

I'm a little confused as to what is going on here. The functionality of Rise Player should relaunch the Player only after a crash, or when the computer starts up. Are you seeing a Chrome window launch after a crash?

No just the player and presentation. Never see a chrome window at all. I’m guessing its only after a power crash. when I get one back in to office I’m going to run some tests. but as I can see so far, If play crashes and the box stays powered up then it doesn’t show. But a power crash it does.

Mark,

To confirm, this error message shows up within the Rise Player where a presentation should be, is this correct? If so, can you provide a screenshot of the entire screen?

We have a automatic screen shot system we have set up that uploads images to our monitoring display at regular intervals.  The script resizes them so this is the best image at the moment. But it is in the corner. I will have to go on site and take a better image.

Mark,

For some reason that image is not appearing at full resolution, I'm only getting a thumbnail. Could you email the original screenshot to me? btf@risevision.com

Thanks!

I will be going on-site in a few hours to take a photo

Mark,

Thanks for that. It looks like Chrome error messages are appearing over the Rise Player. This leads me to two questions
  1. Why are error messages displaying over scheduled content, and how can we do away with that?
  2. Why is your presentation crashing?
Could you share a link to a preview of your presentation so I can try to recreate this locally? I do have a message into our player developers regarding error messages appearing over the top of Player.

Mark,

I've been unable to recreate this locally. Is it possible that you have another instance of Chrome open on this media player while Rise Player was running? Are there any instances of Chrome opening at startup?

No they are very simple Debian NUC's. It only has basic's and rise vision player script.

Is there a way to change chrome://flags on your Player instance of chrome. To enable "disable better session restore" option?

Hi Mark,

Sorry for the late reply. We don't support a user manually changing their Chrome setup.  But you can go to the install directory/chromium/chrome.exe and change it there.  It may be reset at some point though.

Thanks,
Shea

Hi Mark,
I've seen that adding the --incognito flag to your command also may remove this.

http://superuser.com/questions/461035/disable-google-chrome-session-restore-functionality

Also, what Linux OS are you on? 32-bit or 64-bit? Sepcs are on your NUC?

HDD: 30 SSD
NETWORK: Wireless / Ethernet
OS: Debian 7.1 Wheezy - using fvwm as a window manager no desktop environment. Custom script for monitoring system and vpn.

Mark,

I may have been unable to replicate due to the version of Linux that you're running on. Currently, we only support and I can only confirm that I am unable to replicate on Ubuntu 14.04. Would you be able to try out Ubuntu?

When player first starts up i can see in the logs it adds flags to exec command. Where are these set. and what preference file is called ( the default one)

This is what i see in the logs with rvplayer start's and i want to try add "--disable-session-crashed-bubble" to this list of flag's

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dec 11 08:54:38.610 INFO: Application properties file is not found. Using default setting. File name: RisePlayer.properties

I also want to try this is i can work out that preferences file

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Open chrome \ Default \ Preference, and change the value to

"exit_type": "none",

"exited_cleanly": true,
