Running Chrome app player on video wall.  Periodically the player will crash and go to desktop.  Not sure why this is happening.  Running win7 64 bit.

Hello,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Can I ask what version of Chrome is running on your media players?

If you are running Windows, could you open Performance Monitor while the presentation is running? I would like to know specifically if you are seeing any high memory usage.
all computers are running 4gb and memory is not a result of it crashing however i will keep an eye on it and will report when i can
Nvm i just witness it crash, it will go to 150mb and straight up crash
Task manager at chrome indicates that the app player is using up to 300,000k or ~300mb
after much searching throughout the presentations, I found that Google Slides is what causing the Crash. after removing and replacing the slides, the chrome app no longer crashes.

Ill report more if I find anything

Cheers

Elementary,

Thanks for keeping up with this. JPC, are you running any Google Slides in your presentations?

XMedia,

The only thing I can suggest as an alternative is to save each slide as an image, upload it to Rise Storage, and use the image folder widget.

Thanks,

Matthew

I'm having the same issue using Google Slides. Will there be a resolution to this other than converting them into images?

Vincent,

How often is your presentation crashing?

Blake,

I have 3 displays running similar presentations, with the difference of just a background image. One crashes about once a day and one more has been crashing recently every few days.

I've tried a restart on crash application but haven't had a lot of success as it crashes and stays on the desktop screen most of the time.

So originally i was using the native player on all my displays but switched to the app player as recommended by RV and have had issues since then.  Never had this issue with the native player.

Blake,

I've added this application to my display but all that is happening is that the google website opens up, not the rv app.  Help!

JPC,

You need to make sure you add the arguments line that specifies the application ID to Application Monitor.

JPC,

It sounds like you may have an issue with the content that you are running. Do you have any refresh tags in the presentation?
