Checkered Background for Text Input

I often times find myself using a lot of white text in placeholders or settings - either the gadget or the widget.  In all the WYSIWYG editors, they also have a white background, which means that most of the time, I cannot see my text while I'm editing!  This causes needless difficulties.

This could be mostly resolved by the use of a checkered background for any text editing locations that change the text color to the color settings - similar to photo editors to indicate a transparent background.

Is it not relatively easy to make this happen?  Or is this one of those things the seems easy, but is seemingly complicated and will likely never happen?

Thank you for the suggestion!  We'll keep an eye on this thread and if there is sufficient interest, maybe it will make into a future release.

Have a good day,

Actually a grey background in the text editor would be nice. I would think white text would be used more than grey.

Grey is perfectly fine for me if that is easier than an image based checkered pattern!

I second the checkered background.  Right now i find myself switching to html editor to edit the text when it is white.
