Cannot Access the Internet and Display ID Was Not Found

We just set up a new display, downloaded the new Windows 32 bit RV Player and during the installation process, it reports that it cannot access the Internet.  We do have access on the Windows 10 PC to the Internet through Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc., so that message is kind of strange.  Additionally, the RV Player allows us to enter Proxy Settings, but we are not accessing the Internet through a Proxy.  It advises us to skip that procedure. So when we skip the Proxy settings, and we enter the new Display ID, it reports that the Dispay ID was not found.

What do we do to get around these issues?

We have two other displays running on the same local network accessing the Internet through the same connection without any issues.  Those displays run fine.  The new one does not.

Thanks for your help and assistance.

Hi ryan,

I believe you are running behind your own LAN network. So chances are there of firewall restrictions. Just follow the instructions on https://help.risevision.com/user/create-a-display and i am sure you will get through. Also you need to first add the display in the CMS side of the platform. I believe you must have already created your risevision account at http://apps.risevision.com. Once you add your  display you will get the display id which you can enter during the installation process.

Hi Prakash,

Thank you for your response.  Yes, we are running the PCs on a LAN, but there are no firewall issues.  If there were, then the other two identical digital display setups on two other PCs would not work.  But they do work, without any issues.  Also, the issue is not in creating a display.  We have done that successfully.  As I mentioned in my initial post, the issue is that we cannot get the RV Player to be installed to the point where we can enter our already acquired Display ID.

I do believe that the two issues are interrelated, however.  When the RV Player installation program reports that it cannot access the Internet (even though we can do that with other browsers and other applications programs), that is the reason that RV Player installation program reports that our already acquired Display ID cannot be found, once it has been entered.

Any further help and assistance that can be provided would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi ryan,

Can you check date time settings for the pc. Infact I faced a similar issue with one of the system. The date time was not update and changing that had risevision working.

Ryan,

Just to confirm, the Display ID was set up previous to entering it into the Installer, is that right?

If it is not a valid Display ID, it will give you that message, so I just wanted to confirm that it was already created.

If you can confirm that the Display ID exists, can I ask you to email support@risevision.com with the Display ID of the Company so we can reach out to you via email to work on this?

Thanks!

Hi Ryan.  I'm running into the same issues as you.  Did you ever get it resolved?
