This is just a question that came up and I did a few tests but I'm not sure if it can be done. If you have the player playing on your laptop or computer via a HDMI plugin to your TV display, can you let the player play in the background while you are using the computer for something else?

Hi Christian, you probably could run the player and show it on one monitor and work on the other monitor, but it is not recommended.  The best scenario is to have a dedicated machine run your digital signage.

Thanks Alex. Problem is customers don't want pay extra for a signage player. Would just like to run it off their own computers. I assume the chromebox will work great with Rise Vision?

Hi Christiaan, a lot of people are using Chromebox with their displays, yes.  However, I strongly suggest (with emphasis added) that if you consider a Chromebox, that for a better experience you use Managed versus Unmanaged.

Thanks Alex! Can you just give me a quick explanation regarding 'Managed' vs 'Unmanaged'?

You're very welcome Christiaan.

"Managed" basically gives you more control than "Unmanaged".

Here is a document from Google on Managed Chromeboxes: https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/1289314?hl=en

Thanks, Alex. I will look into it and ask if I have a question. :)
