We have a local web server & I would like to use that for storage. At this time I have not been able to get this to work. Anyone else implemented this or have suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Donna,

You can easily use your web storage to host your own media with many of our widgets and gadgets. You will need direct links to the media you would like to add to your presentations.

As you can see in the screenshot below, I've provided an example of the URL that you would need to paste in from your web server. This will need to end in a valid image extension (.jpg, .png, .bmp, etc).

I've done that & it is not working. I thought maybe it was a permissions issue so I tried another image from a random web site and still no luck. Any suggestions?

Donna,

Which widget are you using to display the content? Could you provide a link to the content you are trying to display?

I'm using the image widget within my presentation & the URL to one image I've tried is:

Donna,

I see the problem! You are using the image item, which does not scale the image down to the placeholder size. I've gone into your presentation and changed the image item to the Image Widget. Your picture was actually showing up in ph0, but only a portion of it was viewable.

It's still not showing on the display. It wasn't showing at all and still is not.

Donna,

I've pushed this presentation to an uptime display on my desk, the image is appearing in ph0 (the top left placeholder). If it is not appearing, then I would recommend opening the developer tools console on your display and seeing if there are any resources being blocked by your network.

When I click on the 'play' button within the design view, it works just fine. But when I try to run via the display app it does not. My network admin says he has given this machine full access so it should not be a filter, etc. issue. Any suggestions before I go talk to him again?

Donna,

Which player are you using, Native or Chrome App Player?

Donna,

Can you try accessing the image through the chrome browser on the media player?

Donna,

I've taken a look at your presentation, and it looks like it has some unpublished changes. Could you publish the presentation and refresh your player?

Well, I don't know if I am more excited or embarrassed but it's working!!! I'm a newbie to signage software - and apparently everyone else in the office knew that you had to save AND publish. I did not.

Thank you so much for your help with this. And most of all, your patience!!!
