I've been testing Rise Vision to see if it fits our needs and I have a couple questions in regards to cache and content download.

How often does the player on a Windows 7 64bit machine refreshes its cache?

I've created a simple presentation using a single placeholder with a Video Widget, which plays a .mp4 from a URL.

I'm currently seeing 2 downloads every 20 minutes for the .MP4.  Is this expected?

Hi there, can you tell me where you are storing your video file? Thanks

Hello,

I've been testing using Box Enterprise. I noticed that once I moved the file and used Rise's storage that the cache download doesn't happen as often.

Would the 20 minute re-download happen if I used my own hosted file as well, like AWS?

We check for updated file versions once every 20 minutes, but only download the file again if the etag is changed, which is the case for Rise Storage.  If a 3rd party server does not use etag, we'll check last-modified. If for some reason the server doesn't support etag or last-modified, the file will never update.

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks!
