Blocked files

This is a problem we have encountered in the past.  Just like then, there is no logic associated with what is happening.  I have a file being blocked.  It was added to the playlist Monday.  It is part of a playlist that repeats over and over so every single file plays the exact same amount of times.  This file is not really larger than the other files (it is...but like by 1MB).  Why is this file getting blocked and not the others????  Don't get me wrong. I don't want any files blocked.  I just think the usage limitations have got to be too strict to even make the platform useful if any of my files are being blocked.

Tony,

The referer that I'm seeing on the throttled file is from a presentation ID, not a Display ID. Do you have this file running in a preview anywhere?

Yes.  As well as 2 other files that are running in all the same places and are not being blocked.

Now today I have a new random file being blocked.  Again...it doesn't run any more than any other file.  ...but it is being blocked.  Any news on progress to fix this issue?

Really?  You stopped using MP4s?  I had no idea...which is odd because we use your solution a ton.  What video formats are supported now?  ...just MOV?  Also, why is MP4 supported.  I don't there is really a file type that can achieve the same level of quality while keeping file size relatively small.  ...that second part is just my opinion, of course.

Yes, actually we have only supported WebM for quite a long time now.  I would give that a try.

We still have files being blocked. I am curious...I came across a thread in this forum where one of your customers was using files from their own server and said each time the file came up Rise player was asking for it multiple times which increased every time the files came up in the rotation.  Is this an issue that may be affecting this blocking.  We are still experiencing file blocking and as before it's just some files even though they are all scheduled the same amount of times.

tony,

That should not be the case, but you can test this by opening up the dev tools console and checking the media downloads.

Thanks Blake. We have a long day of testing tomorrow. I'll let you know what we find.
