I am setting up a digital signage network managed through Rise Vision and was wondering what is the best playback method to use to ensure smooth content playback and transitions? The feeds are available as Media RSS, Flash SWF, HTML, Direct URL.

Dwight,

I'm going to need more information regarding your specific presentation. Can you tell me what kind of content, widgets, and/or gadgets you are using in your presentation?

Hi Blake,

Thanks for checking in on this. I am using weather feeds and fun facts from another content provider - which format should I take the feed in? I also plan to get some content created (short 15 second video without audio) - what file type should I ask the developer to use)? Thanks.

Dwight,

We can display any of those formats. The best option may be to have the content created in a website and display it using our web page widget.

So if the content is created using flash or html it really does not matter then? Also in terms of the content feed from the providers, are all the formats I listed just as reliable as the other and work smoothly on the Rise platform?

Dwight,

I would stay away from displaying content that doesn't have a widget, such as RSS feeds. Widgets are our new standard, and our developers have not yet transitioned the RSS gadget into a widget.
