=====================================================================================================================================================

My new ASUS Chromebox was setup and installed very easily, but it seems now like the Cache gets full after a day being on.  Then the screen does not update and some of the Content re-sizes (not fully showing the Twitter feed).  I've set Auto-Reboot in the Display settings, but that does not seem to help.  Does anyone know if my hunch about the Cache getting full can be addressed in Chrome OS?  If so, how?  Thank you!

I've not seen an instance where the cache is getting full on a Chromebox.

Is your Chromebox set in Kiosk mode, or did you set up Google Device Management with it?

Thanks.

Also, could you provide the Presentation ID for what is showing on your Chromebox?  You can get the ID when you're in the Presentation Editor.  The ID will be part of the URL.

Thanks.

Hi Neal, thanks for the reply.

I literally opened the box, plugged it in, and installed your RiseVision Player and did nothing else.  So, I am not sure if it is in Kiosk or GDM.  What is the default?  Does it make a difference?

Presentation ID = 695122da-4a6f-4d7f-969b-059923fd9e0e

Thank you again!

You can find steps on setting up Kiosk mode here. It would wouldn't have been enabled by default.

Thanks.

Tony,

I've had a copy of your Presentation going on my Displays and haven't seen any issues with the size of the content changing.  Twitter is updating as well from what I see.

Were you able to set up Kiosk mode on the device?

Thanks.

Thanks Neal.  I've identified the stoppage issue.  The network the display was on gets rebooted at the same time as the Display.  So, 9 times out of 10, the Chromebox would come up before the network was ready.  Now I've delayed the Display reboot time and it seems to have solved the issue.  Know your network!

On a side note, the Kiosk mode thing is not really working for me.  I do have it enabled, but setting the Auto-Start would require me to wipe the whole box and start again.  Its' already mounted, and I can't easily access the paper-clip hole to reset.  For those that really want Kiosk Auto-Start, please follow the thread below.

Thanks again, such a great product.  Can't want to do more with it.

Good to hear you have it working.

Thanks for the tip regarding the auto-start
