I try to use API to automate my process, i.e,
1. upload a media file
2. insert it to an exist placeholder within a presentation, or create a new presentation with a placeholder( my understanding is, the placeholder is a group of media files).
3. Create a schedule with defined start and end date with that presentation

So far, I found only 3rd point is possible.  I checked out storage API which does not have an explicit method to upload media file, indirectly confirmed from this post(https://community.risevision.com/rise_vision_inc/topics/is-there-an-api-for-me-to-manage-my-content-...).

I also cannot find any API to modify a placeholder. At "add presentation" API, it has a field "distributions", but very confuse, it includes a list of "displayIDs" but no any information to placeholder.

Is anything I am missing or misunderstood?

We have documentation on how to actually make an upload here:  https://help.risevision.com/developer/storage-api/storage.getResumableUploadURI

Regarding adding a Placeholder, you would have to do so within the Presentation HTML and add/update the Presentation. Regarding creating a Schedule, that should be pretty straight forward, as long as the Presentation exists already.

My suggestion would be to use the Image Widget with a folder and work within the folder in Rise Storage, using  just 1 Presentation and 1 Schedule.

Regarding updating files in Storage as per your requirements: The widget would pick up those updates automatically, so you don't need to go through the hassle of using the APIs. Just a thought.

Does that help?
