Steven,

We'd be interested in hearing your experiences with the Chromebit should you acquire some, specifically how it responds to resource heavy applications such as HD video.

Also, before making your decision on purchasing media players, please take a look at this thread regarding the state of Rise Player on ChromeOS.

Hey Blake,

While the info from the referenced link above is unfortunate, we're glad RV is working on the issue with Google. But many of us have too large of a Chromebox installation base to start over and purchase new media players with alternative OSes.

And ... even despite the recent conflicts and digital signage downtime due to conflicts between Chrome and the RV player, my boss is STILL excited to try out these new Chromebits for new digital signage TV installs instead of the aforementioned Chromeboxes.

I guess what I'm saying is that it'll take more than a RV player conflict to get our college to sour on the Chrome OS.  And we believe your company will find a solution and begin Chrome OS player development again soon.

Thanks,
Robert

Not available for purchase yet but a recent blog post indicated an Asus Chromebit will be $85 and for sale in the next few weeks. Fingers crossed, this would be perfect for some spots I have TVs in with no network/coax. http://chrome.blogspot.com/2015/11/chrome-os-is-here-to-stay.html
