Any UK users/suppliers willing to guide/share with prospective UK user....?

I'm UK based, looking to setup a single screen for my local sailing club, and was hoping to speak with UK based users for their suggestions and potential suppliers to assist process of choosing media players and screens etc.....
Not sure if this forum allows private messaging as is my 1st time on here, but if not, happy to provide my details via posting so can speak via phone/google hangouts etc...

It may be beneficial if you posted some general ideas of what you're trying to do.  Sometimes the content you're running may play a role in determining the type of hardware you need.

Following Neal's suggestion, so more detail....

I'm trying to spec out a solution for my local sailing club here in the UK, hence preferably we'd like to deal with UK based suppliers for any hardware etc...

interactive screen to allow limited amount of control/navigation over displayed content e.g. 
  -  selection of photo album then swipe cover flow style to images, tap to expand and or switch back to auto random scroll 
 - or link out to google maps and scroll that....
- selection of sub screen within main view depending on which 'playlist' is being run
-  examples of data feeds we would like to show:
   weather websites and subsections of same sites
   various twitter feeds
   various facebook pages
   photo galleries ( see above) currently club uses Picasa 
   google maps ( see above)
   google calendar view
   race results pages within club website
potential sponsors adverts (static or maybe links to video)

future event / menu info

'hot' club news / announcements...

images of club merchandise....

news ticker from BBC/SKY ideally free....

I'd anticipate a variety of 'playlists' depending on time of day / day of week /  etc....

Ideally the screen may also get used as a TV when not running 'signage' 

For screen durability: I forecast typical usage would be 50 hours/week rising to maybe 100hours/week  during JULY/AUGUST when club is busier with school hols etc.

We now have a decent broadband connection of 20/25 so downloading from cloud 'should' be quick....

I like the idea of cloud based creation/management so I and any other 'admins' can run remotely, but locally I use MAC OS so ideally any local software to run on MAC otherwise I'll have to find myself at PC ;(

Appreciate suggestions for screen hardware, media players suggestions etc...
