Rise Vision, could you please allow editing posts. As soon as somebody replied to or liked a post, its is impossible to edit it.

I don't feel this is necessary or suitable.

If you edit a post after someone has commented then it is possible the comments are no longer relevant to the edited post. You can end up with comments on content that has been removed from a posting and would make no sense in the conversation.

I think this could make posts confusing and  would not be helpful in the long run to other users looking for answers.

Why not simply repost with your amendments or corrections?

regards,
Jim Coyle

Darius,

At this time only Rise Staff can edit posts after a reply. This is functionality set in GetSatisfaction, which is what our forum is built on. It's not something we can change, but I'd like to see if other users would like this same functionality and we can investigate it further with GetSatisfaction.

I can see the pro's and cons of this as well. Sometimes you need to edit a post to remove something you posted incorrectly, where Jim brings up a great point that replies on that original thread may become irrelevant and be very confusing to follow if the original post has been modified.

I'd like to hear everyone's opinions on this!

I see... Well, when English is not your 1st language you find a ton of reasons to go back and fix a couple of letters. And there is no reason to re-post the entire thing for that, too. Will live with a sense of embarrassment :)

Darius,

Great point, I never took that into consideration. I can only ask "Where is the hotel?" in French, but that doesn't serve me much good here :).
