Some of the problem is related to Dropbox shutting down their public folder.

Orjan!

Just to confirm, are you still having issues? Or were they solved by determining it was a Dropbox issue? Also, are you using the My Rise Player?

Hi.
Some screens used Dropbox and their images are now moved to our web. But we had some screens with already moved images that also was black. Can't see any reason they should be black. Our Androids has been 100% stable since Dec 1..

Here is one of the screens: http://preview.risevision.com/?type=p...
This one is not resaved, only restarded to make it work again. The text widget was working..
We're running My Rise and all form of update notifiing services in Android is off.

Thank you for that additional information Orjan! You'll want to make sure that after updating the Presentation to point to the new links, that you save and publish the Presentation.

Everything appears to be set up correctly in your Presentation, so I would suggest reaching out to My Rise Player's support team by following the steps listed here. I hope that helps!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Replaced images is not changed.

When overwriting an image with an new RV still shows the old from cache. Is there a way to implement a date-check or checksum to get the system to automaticly show the correct file.

Even if I have the originals in separate locations there will be problem if the name is the same.
A restart solves it, but it should be prettier without the restart.

Using My Rise player..

My apologies Orjan,

I thought these were the same, due to the earlier references in files in a Dropbox giving you issues. The files that are giving you issues, are they in Rise Storage? Or somewhere else?

Have you reached out to the support team with My Rise Player to see if they can assist?

My Rise is working on the issue that is known and there is not a solution for the moment. When we change our weekly pictures (with same filenames) we just reboot the player to clear the cache, that is the workaround for now. The storage is not the issue, I think My Rise need to compare the checksum in the app in order to cache the right version..
I'm thinking of alternatives to manage weekly images. Maybe by using an imagerotator in wordpress and link this page inte RV. There was an answer in the other thread..

Orjan,

The only answer in that other thread from William with My Rise Player was: "You need to restart the player if your using the same names. This is something we been working on but haven't gotten a good solution to work. The issue we have is it downloads  more than needed which causes blocking. Its on the todo list but for now you will need to restart if the name is the same. Sorry..."

Was there a different thread that you were referring to?
