Align image with row in Google Sheets

In order to align images with specific rows using the google sheets widget, I use the formula =image("url",1) in my sheet. The URL points to a repo that is public.

The image shows in google sheets however, it does NOT show up on my signage preview.
When I use a simple formula (e.g. = 1+1), the number 2 shows. Can you help with why the image is missing on the digital sign?

thanks, Austin.

Hi TeddyRuckus Support,

I don't think the Spreadsheet Widget has the ability to display images. Let me talk with a developer and get back to you.

TeddyRuckus Support,

I have confirmed that this is not currently supported by the Spreadsheet Widget. Our content team is interested in this as an additional feature to the Spreadsheet Widget, and it may be something that is added in the future.

Andrew, why do not you use a separate placeholder for image?

Because the image changes on a meal to meal basis. I.E. One meal is gluten free on the top row for lunch and then when it switches over for dinner the meal is NOT gluten free.  Basically, there is a large spreadsheet, here it is for reference: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1UlJqUcQA0YcAt8Gdr2N7Ag8j9P4mEYURho2tpK1q-wI/pubhtml?gid=8708...

Is there also a schedule, too? It also would be helpful to see preview of that presentation, to get an idea what the final design looks like. I still think you can have it done with additional placeholder for images.

Yes, there is a schedule for it.  Changes for the day then by the meal..... I don't have any backgrounds or anything yet but attached is core presentation.   I do not want to be changing icons on a weekly basis.  It would be great if it could display an icon based on text in a cell, that's what it does now in the Google sheet.  The other issue is that when we run out of a product, the managers will go in and change it on the sheet to update the menu boards and I just want them to have to edit it one area instead of going in to change an image placeholder.

Thanks,

I see. Of course, making changes in the GS and RV is not elegant or easy solution... it is merely a workaround. Also... as, perhaps a better workaround, Google Slides could do the job for you. There is no official Widget for it, but HTML does the trick. Also Google slides allow tables.

Also, you can use GS directly in your presentation. It would maintain the look it has in the GS, though.
