Adding a display, no choices for resolution

I am trying to add a display and the resolution gives me one choice - 1920x1080. I can't use that resolution. I am limited to the video card in the computer, and that is 1280x1024.

Why do I not have a choice of resolutions?

Dick,

The resolution is automatically detected each time the Display starts up. This way there the list of Displays shows the exact resolution running on each Display.

When you first add a Display, it will default to 1920x1080, and then when you go look at it in the Displays list, it will show as 0x0 until it is installed and running on a Display. At that time it will update to show the correct resolution.

Does it detect what the maximum resolution of the video card on the computer driving the display, or does it detect the maximum resolution of the display itself? For instance, a laptop may only have a mx reolsution of 1024x768, whicl a desktop may have a resolution of 1280x1024, and the displays receiving the content are HD display - 1920x1080. Which does it default to?

It detects the current resolution. So if you had a computer that was currently set to 1280x1024, but was capable of 1920x1080, the Display would be listed as 1280x1024.

If you were to change the resolution to 1920x1080 and restart the computer, it would be listed as 1920x1080.

I know this is an old thread but for some reason this isn't working for me. I have the resolution set to x720 in android on a cenique player but RISE is thinking it's x1080..... why is this happening? I have no control over it and I don't know how to troubleshoot that.
